Job Purpose / Summary: The Manager, Biorepository Services is responsible for receiving, unpacking, processing, and recording samples to be distributed for laboratory testing, and/or storage. They will demonstrate a good understanding of laboratory workflow. In addition to the primary role of sample accessioning, there will be a need to provide primary support to the Biorepository equipment on an as-needed basis.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for sample lifecycle management from acquisition to archival
  • Support Biorepository Services processes with receipt, unpacking and process incoming clinical specimens
  • Enter and verify data in the LIMS database
  • Prepare samples for testing by pre-processing as needed (i.e., aliquoting, relabeling, etc.)
  • Resolve and document incomplete or unacceptable specimens
  • Manage sample storage inventory and quality control
  • Create sample batches, print labels, and label tubes and batches
  • Perform equipment maintenance and maintain equipment logs and records
  • Keep Biorepository equipment in good working condition by applying quality control measures, and preventative maintenance to avoid damages
  • Support the administrative functions of the Biorepository as required
  • Check, monitor and record temperature and perform root cause analysis of deviations and implement a resolution or initiate a service request when necessary
  • Order and manage Biorepository supplies as needed
  • Carry out and maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory stock for daily operations.
  • Assist with training of new laboratory personnel and training of new procedures with existing personnel

What You'll Bring:

  • BS or MS in biological science, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or another relevant field
  • 3+ years of Biorepository or biobank management experience
