Assistant Professor of Biology – Molecular Cell Biology & Immunology
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2026. This faculty position serves the undergraduate Biology program at LMU’s main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee, located in the scenic Cumberland Gap region where Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia meet.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in molecular cell biology and immunology and demonstrate a commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching. Primary teaching responsibilities may include Immunology, Molecular Cell Biology, and additional courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. Courses serve biology, pre-health, and pre-veterinary students.
Teaching represents approximately 80% of the position. Additional responsibilities include scholarship, service, and mentoring undergraduate research. During the first year, the selected faculty member will participate in LMU’s New Faculty Academy, receive support from a departmental faculty mentor, and benefit from moderated scholarship and service expectations.
Required qualifications:
PhD in Biology, Molecular Cell Biology, Cellular Biology, Immunology, or an allied field
Educational preparation consistent with University and accreditation requirements
Evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity
Preferred qualification:
College-level teaching experience in cell biology and/or immunology
