The M. Dhodapkar lab is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Staff Scientist to work in a collaborative environment leading research on immune-therapies and immune function in cancer patients. The focus of our lab is to study interactions between cancer and immune system in the setting of precursor states and clinical malignancy specifically focused on multiple myeloma. We are actively exploring and developing various immune therapies including novel CARTs and bispecific engagers for immune cell redirection.
We are interested in a motivated person to focus on studies developing and testing new immune therapies, including in vivo approaches for T cell redirection, and novel targets for CARTs or bispecifics. The studies will utilize mouse models developed by our group, along with high dimensional immune assays. The position will provide opportunities to advance translational applications in the areas of immunotherapies and disease modeling, and for collaborations with colleagues in UW and other cancer centers. This position is ideally suited for a candidate who is motivated, enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines, mentoring junior scientific investigators, and contributing to an innovative academic environment to forge new scientific directions.
Responsibilities
- Handling projects independently, conducting experiments in a timely manner, including literature reviews, experimental design, and data analysis, under the guidance of the laboratory PI.
- Contributing to the preparation of research reports, publications, and oral presentations.
- Opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD and/or MD in a relevant field (immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology, or related fields).
- Track record of productive research, with high quality publications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- A team player with strong aptitude for collaboration, particularly with bioinformaticians and clinical collaborators.
- Experience in immunology and animal models/animal handling (mice) is essential.
- Additional experience in flow cytometry, viral vectors, single cell transcriptomics, gene editing, molecular biology, proteomics, immunohistochemistry, and/or microscopy is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $84,406 to $191,755, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
